Choosing a product
Which material should I use?+
It depends on where the sign lives, how long it needs to last, and how it attaches. Our guided selector will recommend one in under a minute — or call and ask.
What is the difference between banner and mesh?+
Banner is solid — the whole sheet blocks light and wind. Mesh has thousands of tiny holes so wind passes through, dramatically reducing wind loading. Mesh is the right choice for exposed outdoor sites and fences.
Which board is best outdoors?+
Corflute (6–18 months), composite panel (10+ years), or acrylic (10+ years with UV inks). Composite panel is the professional standard for permanent building signage.
What is the best product for temporary signage?+
Corflute for freestanding, mesh for fenced sites, banner for hanging. All prints fast, ships flat, and installs without specialist gear.
What material can be cut into shape?+
Corflute, ACM composite, acrylic, plywood, hard foam and PVC all cut cleanly on our flatbed router or laser. Custom shapes are our specialty.
Which products can be printed double-sided?+
Blockout banner, corflute, and most rigid signs. Standard banner and mesh can be double-sided with a blockout layer between prints.
Artwork
Which file format should I send?+
PDF or AI is best. High-resolution TIFF, PSD or PNG also work. See our downloadable templates for exact setup.
What resolution is required?+
150dpi at final size for close-view products, 100dpi for large-format banners viewed at distance. Higher is always better.
What is bleed?+
5mm of image extending beyond the trim line so no white edge shows if the cut shifts slightly. All our templates include bleed guides.
Why do colours look different on screen?+
Screens show RGB (transmitted light), print uses CMYK inks (reflected light). Some vibrant screen colours can't be reproduced. We colour-manage and match Pantones on request.
Should fonts be outlined?+
Yes — convert text to outlines before sending, or supply the font files. This prevents font substitution issues.
How do I create a cut line?+
Use a 1pt magenta spot colour named "CutContour" or "Thru-cut" on a separate layer. Templates for each product make this straightforward.
What happens if my artwork is unsuitable?+
Our preflight check catches common issues (RGB, low res, missing bleed) and flags them for review. We hold production and email you the same day.
Ordering
Can I order custom sizes?+
Yes. Every configurator supports custom width and height up to the product max. Non-standard shapes go through a quote form.
Is there a minimum order?+
One is fine on most products — including cut-to-shape rigid signs. Minimum job fee applies to very small orders.
Can I order one item?+
Absolutely. Single-item orders run on the same equipment as national campaigns.
Can I reorder a previous job?+
Yes — logged-in customers can duplicate any past order in one click, then modify what changed.
Can I make changes after ordering?+
Yes, until production starts. After that, only if the print hasn't begun. Contact production directly for time-critical changes.
When does production begin?+
Once you approve the digital proof. We won't press "print" until you sign off — even on rush jobs.
Turnaround
How long will my order take?+
Every product page shows an expected turnaround, calculated from artwork approval. Same-day and rush options are available for most products.
Is urgent printing available?+
Yes — rush (1 business day) and same-day options are surcharged in the configurator. Same-day requires artwork by 10am and applies to jobs under 10m².
Does turnaround include delivery?+
No — turnaround is production only. Add 1–5 business days depending on delivery postcode.
What can delay an order?+
Artwork issues (biggest one), unclear specifications, freight peak periods, weather affecting outdoor installation.
When should I approve my proof?+
As soon as it lands — every hour delayed pushes production back by an equivalent slot.
Delivery
Do you deliver Australia-wide?+
Yes. Metro to remote, single-item to multi-location. Freight is calculated automatically at checkout.
Can orders be blind shipped?+
Yes — trade customers get blind shipping (no Insane branding on packaging or invoices) by default.
How is freight priced?+
Zone-based flat rate plus a per-m² surcharge for rigid or oversized items. Enter your postcode in the configurator for a live estimate.
Can large signs be delivered?+
Yes — up to 3m banners ship rolled. Rigid signs ship flat-packed. Very large jobs may need pallet freight, which we quote separately.
Can I arrange my own courier?+
Absolutely. We'll package and hold for your carrier — just let us know at checkout.
Can I collect from the factory?+
Yes — free Newcastle collection. We'll SMS when your order is ready.
